Concept: This highly intensive course teaches the sports professional to be more effective in TV, Radio and Press interviews. It helps to reduce 'media-fright' and equips them to turn a neutral or negative interview into a positive one.

Although precisely tailored to the individual, Marlston's one-day course is likely to include many of the following elements:
  • Interview techniques:
    • Studio
    • 'Down-The-Line' interviews where a sportsperson is interviewed direct to camera by a presenter in a remote studio
    • Radio
    • Press (face-to-face, via telephone, Press Conference)

  • Controlling adrenalin / nerves
  • Interview Preparation - Know your answers before they ask the questions
  • Voice projection
  • Non-verbal Communication (posture, dress, body-language)
  • Colour' commentary - Guest commentators are expected to sound knowledgeable and look like experts
  • Handling tough questions
  • Crisis Management - "How will a broken foot affect your performance in the World Cup?" - "Tell us about your relationship with Ulrika"
